Math Assignment: October Calendar Math

Here is where you can post all your comments about the different components of Calendar Math for October. You can make predictions about the daily depositor, the patterns / observations you notice about the daily calendar, observations regarding the counting tape or, once a prediction is proven, post that too! Have fun blogging!

All math students should post at least once during the month.

When my dad got sick

When my dad got sick I was at my friend's house,I was really scar'ed!When I called my Mom I asked''do you no what he has''.My friend's mom asked "do they no what he has",No I said.

When my mom drove my dad to the hospital my mom rushed to the hospital. When my parent's got to the hospital my dad got qickly RUSHED to the EMERGECY ROOM. They took to two cat scan's, they did'nt find enything they kept on taking test they found nothing they took a blood sample they found somthing in his blood, they looked at it up closly they say it is pankarytitis but there not shore, they take one more test they do say that it is pankarytitis, that is there final answer.

He was in the hospital for 1 year and 2 months. Know from this day on he is doing really good although he has a scar going almost up his stomach

For Oct. 9th I think the shape on the calendar will be a isosceles triangle that is orange.

Class Predication Posted with Mrs. Perry's help.

M. Ells Perry said...

On the counting tape, there are 0.32. As a fraction, that equals 32/100. In word form it is thirty-two hundredths. If I reduce this fraction it is 16/50, if I keep reducing, it is 8/25. 8/25 is lowest terms.

Class example of a blog post.

Example Post:
Counting Tape:
6/100= 3/50
Calendar Observation: All the yellow triangles are equalateral. This means they all have the same length sides and 3 equal angles.

Livy said...

50/100=1/2

Livy said...

I predict that the 15th will be a yellow equalateral with a green circle.

Paige said...

0.36 36/100 36/4=9 100/4=25

I think that every eight days will be a isosceles triangle because then 1st was a isosceles and the ninth is to and 1+8=9 and 9-1=8 so it is every eight

Sarah said...

40/100=2/5 I think the stars are every 5 and the circles are every 3. The next star will be on the 15th. The next circle will be on the 15th.

Eric said...

0.25
2o/100 = 5/25 = 1/5

I predict every 4 days there might be an isosceles triangle because on the calender there is one on the 1st,5th,9th, and on the 13th. so on the 17th there might be an isosceles triangle.

Counting tape:
30/100=3/10
Calender Observation:
Usualy there is the same thing
if you look at the calender diaganaly. But with October,
They are all different.

The yellow star is every 5 and the green circle is every 3.

Kalif said...

0.32 32/100 14/50
all the stars stand for mutiples of 10.

you can find math anywhere.Even things as simple as Halloween involve math. For example,Christmas.you decide how many presents to give to people, and count the presents you get from people.Even though counting is preschool math,it is still math.when you plan your schedule, you may not realize it,but you plan when to get up, how long you will spend time at each place, and when to come back.

Tim said...

Everyone uses math. People use it when they go shopping to calculate change plus tax. Chefs use math to measure recipes. People use math when they travel to find arrival and departure times for their trips. Homebuilders like my dad use math to figure measurements and costs of materials to build things. People use math more than they think.

I think HALLOWEEN is going to be a yellow EQUILATARAL TRIANGLE for
October,31 Hurricane Gustav

Hurricane Gustav is headed for New Orleans so the people have to pack all their stuff up and protect their houses. Most people have not finished repairing from hurricane Katrina, and now they have to go through it again. The storm has winds up to 120mph. It was almost three years ago when the catastrophe hit the shores of New Orleans. Some craze people have decided to stay and ignore the orders to evacuate. Gustav is likely to test the retaining walls that are still being fixed from the destruction of Katrina. Again the 120mph winds and heavy rain are sure to pack a big punch. The city has provided buses for the people & the homeless to get out of town. This storm maybe another devastating catastrophe for all the residents that are unfortunately in its path. I feel so bad for all the
People that have to deal with this category 3 hurricane.
